It'd probably make more sense for me to start at the beginning but I'm going to start at the end.
It's hard to see but there's a resin coffin (from Itar's Workshop) in the dead and injured box. Turn track to the left, reroll area to the right.
The reroll counters are also resin from Itar's Workshop. Each is glued to a plastic peg (the kind that holds up your bookshelves) and there are holes drilled in the board that hold the pegs. So you can't knock over a counter and lose track. Oh, and each side has 8 plus a chest for Leader rerolls.
The score track runs across the front. There's a K with a space for another marker to show who the kicking team is. And the H is for a pair of numbered chests, to show the half. That way I could get away with only having one turn track in each dugout.
The score markers are goblins--a cheerleader on a stack of barrels for blue, a jester on boxes for red. Unfortunately, the pic of the jester completely done came out crappy. So here he is in progress.
The squares are divided by tile spacers glued to blue foam, and then textured, painted, and flocked.
And here's a pic of the first game we played on it. It was my orcs vs. my best friend's elves. We've been playing Blood Bowl on and off for ages, and always talked about building a pitch. It was a super close, tense game (several turns of failed pickups on both sides, crazy scatters, a blitz) but the orcs won 2-1. Pretty much an awesome way to break it in.
I've got a bunch of in progress pics, and I'd like to post some orcs, and I'm starting my next team (humans). But maybe more importantly, this pitch was a bit of a test of ideas and techniques. Next, I'm building an undead-themed stadium. And I'm gonna see if I can keep up with blogging that throughout the process.
